Empowering the Future of Neuroscience

Empowering the Future of Neurosceince

Michael Dübbert

Senior Electronics Engineer of iBOTS eLab
Neuroscience Electronics Lab
University of Cologne

I graduated from the TH Cologne in 1994, specializing in information processing and bioengineering medical technology. As co-founder and technical director of Femto Messtechnik GmbH in Berlin, I gained many years of experience in the development of measurement technology for science and research. The focus here was already on highly sensitive, low-noise amplifier technology as well as sensor technology and optoelectronics.

In 2002, I moved to the University of Cologne and became a member of Prof. Ansgar Büschges’ working group as head of the electronics workshop in neurophysiology.

We have now been developing and building electronic measurement technology tailored to the requirements of researchers for over 20 years.

My special areas of expertise: Analog amplifier technology, motor control systems, optics and optoelectronics, LED/laser systems for optogenetics, fluorescence excitation and detection.

Through many years of experience with the development and construction of equipment for neuroscience research in Cologne and also for our cooperation partners worldwide, we have been able to accumulate a variety of designs and skills in order to find quick and good solutions for the researchers within the iBehave network.
