Research Topic B: Overview of approach taken in IP4 and IP5.
The iBehave projects in topic B will focus on the central and peripheral neural dynamics underlying the initiation (IP4) and execution (IP5) of motor behaviors.
IP4 will address how movement initiation is controlled by the brain and in the spinal cord/ventral nerve cord. Understanding these motor dynamics might provide better therapeutic insights for many neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), in which movement initiation and action-selection are impaired.
IP5 focuses on the dynamic interaction of brain, spinal and sensory microcircuits needed to drive multi-joint coordination.
